Do you love a good Twitter Party? You know we do and we’re excited to host a party about summer legs! On July 22nd at 8:00pm ET, please join us for the #SummerizeYourLegs Twitter Party where we’ll be discussing women’s razors and shaving tips, and giving you a chance to win prizes!
No matter your age, summer is meant to wear that sundress, that really cute skirt, swimsuit and shorts! That means your legs have to be in tip top shape to show them off! It also means you can no longer hide your shaving laziness under jeans! You SO know what I mean! Warmer weather means smooth legs are back in season all while protecting them from the sun’s damaging rays. That means Skintimate Shave Gel, Schick Quattro for women’s razors, and Hawaiian Tropic SPF lotion are all in order. Come share your shaving tips and chat with us about summer beauty during this Twitter party! Read more

Once summer arrives, I need everything to feel and be light, simple and effortless. From my clothing, to food to my beauty products, everything needs to have that summery carefree essence to it. Do you agree?
Which is why a few of my beauty products from winter, fall and even spring just do not make the cut for summer. During the cooler months I don’t mind feeling like there is a layer of protection between my skin and the dry, damaging chill of fall and winter. However, in the summer while I still need the protection, I really do not want to feel the products on my skin. I’ve had to retire a few of my lip products for the time being, especially my heavier lip balms and opt for lighter feeling, but still hydrating lip products. Read more
Memorial Day means that summer is pretty much upon us and one of the products that I like to incorporate in my summer beauty routine is a facial toner. During the summer months my skin tends to get a lot more oily and spending a lot of times outdoors means my skin comes in contact with a lot more dirt than it does during the cooler months so I feel like for me a facial toner is essential during summer. I also like to have one stored in my refrigerator for whenever I need a refreshing spritz during the day especially on those unbearably hot summer days.
During this summer, my facial toner of choice will be Pangea Organics Facial Toner Italian Green Mandarin With Sweet Lime. Pangea Organics has lately become one of my favorite eco-centric skincare lines with products that are nurturing, handcrafted and organic and never contain petroleum, sulfates or detergents, synthetic preservatives, artificial colors or fragrances or GMO’s. The Pangea Organics Facial Toner Italian Mandarin With Sweet Lime is recommended for normal to combination skin, which I possess and in addition to cleaning, refreshing, hydrating and refining the skin it also soothes, which is great for me because in the summer my skin has a tendency to become really angry and freak out in the forms of blemishes and pimples. No summer beauty routine is complete without the incorporation of a great sunscreen. Which for me means one with at least an SPF of 30, one that isn’t greasy feeling and oily looking and one that does not leave my skin looking chalky. And I’ve found my perfect sunscreen for summer just in time for a Memorial Day weekend teeming with outdoor activities.
MD Solar Sciences Mineral Creme SPF 50 Broad Spectrum UVA-UVB Sunscreen is the perfect combination of natural, lightweight, matte with an SPF of 50 and is pretty much invisible on skin with the exception of a really pretty glow. The Mineral Creme rubs in quickly and easily and best of all I can’t even feel it on my skin…even after reapplying it my skin never felt greasy or clogged.
This is absolutely the best sunscreen for my face. In the summer my skin is more prone to breakouts than at any other time of the year and MD Solar Sciences Mineral Creme SPF is specifically formulated for acne prone skin. Besides feeling and looking amazing on my skin, this sunscreen also contains antioxidants, naturally derived Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide and does not contain parabens, allergens, gluten, fragrance or irritants. Aesthetically, I just love the packaging of this sunscreen with its pink tube with the lime green cap; it just screams summer. For me this sunscreen had absolutely no cons and I am elated that I found the perfect sunscreen to use all year round! (Shannon also did a review of their Mineral Lotion SPF 50.) Read more
Summer is the time when I increase my exfoliation a bit (no one wants to see flaky pegs) and long for tropical or beach fragrances. Thanks to the folks at Laura Mercier, I get to experience both with her Almond Coconut Milk Scrub.
What I love about this creamy scrub is that it is a mixture of both sugar and beads (which are safest for exfoliation), olive oil, grape seed oil, coconut oil and sweet almond oil. It comes in a hefty 12 ounce glass jar, which I thankfully have not broken yet. I found this scrub to be gentle enough for everyday use, and it left a delicious scent behind on the skin (which makes me want to buy the Almond Coconut Milk Souffle Body Creme.) Not to mention that my bathroom smells heavenly during my shower and the scent lingers in the air for hours. Mmm. Seriously, I can’t begin to describe to you how yummy this scent is. You’ll just have to try it for yourself. Especially if you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain. Read more
