Probiotic Skin Care: Miracle Ingredient or Marketing Hype?

As a consumer, my hope is that when a product comes to market, it delivers information that is true. I mean, we're all so busy, who has the time to fact check everything? For a while, we all believed the mascara commercials and ads where the spokesperson/model had the most Read more

Voluminous Beach Wave Hair

Little did I know when growing up on the beaches of Rhode Island, that the wavy hair that came naturally among the sand and surf, would be a hairstyle I would try so hard to achieve as an adult. While my hair does have a slight natural wave to it, Read more

BSB Culmine Glow and Go Tinted Moisturizing Sunscreen Review

BSB Culmine Glow & Go Tinted Moisturizer Sunscreen #Review

Transitioning into my favorite time of the year, this is a fabulous time to remind you that sunscreen is necessary year round, not just during the summer months. As Fall kicks off, I feel like it’s my duty to remind all of my beauty loving friends that protecting your skin from the sun is so important … year round. I’m crazy about protecting my skin from the sun and I  love products that give me a little glow while working double duty and in the sunscreen department.  For the past couple of weeks, as the summer has been winding down, I’ve been trying the new tinted sunscreen from Bella Schneider Beauty. Willa Born to Glow Daily Tinted Shimmer Body Lotion Review

born-to-glow-natural-spf-15-daily-shimmer-body-lotion

Willa Born to Glow Daily Tinted Shimmer Body Lotion hydrates skin and evens skin tone with natural SPF 15 coverage. Formulated to dry fast, the natural sunscreen keeps your skin protected and doesn’t feel greasy. Vitamin E acetate moisturizes and fends off free radical damage to diminish the impact of environmental aggressors to keep your skin young and healthy. This is NOT a bronzer so you won’t look like you have a fake tan.

Admittedly this product does contain a bit of shimmer, but it’s not overwhelming. That said, at my age I would wear not this in the daytime. It would be perfect for a late summer afternoon at a pool party or backyard BBQ. It’s light enough for the hot humid weather and has an SPF of 15 so you’ll have some protection (I do recommend SPF 30). Apply to the collarbone, shoulders and décollete for a bit of sparkle.  Read more

DIY Tinted Moisturizer

I am not a huge fan of the feel of foundation.  No matter how lightweight a foundation claims to be, it always feels too heavy on my skin.  I definitely love how my skin looks on those rare occasions when I do choose to…or if it’s a booking…HAVE to wear foundation, but I can never wait until I can get home and thoroughly wash my face.  A few makeup artists have suggested that I try a tinted moisturizer instead, which I have done but never found one that won my loyalty so I decided to try creating my own very  tinted moisturizer.

For the moisturizer part of my tinted moisturizer, I decided to use Embroylisse Lait-Crème Concentrè, it seems to be in the kit of every makeup artist I’ve worked with and I love how moisturizing and soothing it is on my skin.  For the “tinted” portion of my tinted moisturizer I used Aveda Liquid Foundation, because it is one of the lightest feeling foundations I have found and I do not need to mix it with a different colored foundation to match my skin tone (which I tend to have to do with a lot of other brands), however I’m not sure that Aveda still carries this foundation.  Read more
