As I was standing in the press area in the Tents at Bryant Park, I noticed Lara Spencer from The Insider make her way over to the line for the Heart’s Red Truth runway show. When she tried to go past the “Tent police” to enter the show, she was sent packing. Despite hearing her tell the guy that she was on the guest list and who she was, the guy was all “I don’t care. You’re not going in.” Visibly frustrated that this guy obviously had no clue who she was, she turned her back and said something I won’t repeat here.
I was a little baffled that this guy was clueless that she worked at The Insider, but he was insistent that she wasn’t getting in. She ended up walking my way and stood a few feet from me making phone calls for help getting into the show. I decided to walk over and talk to her–and she was super nice despite the public denial in front of everyone there at the tents.
Someone ended up coming to her rescue and took her to the backstage entrance (for which you have to go outside and around the building for)–but without an umbrella in the drenching rain that was going on that day. Lara ended up walking out into the rain with her white sweater over her head. It just wasn’t her day.
Isn’t she gorgeous though?
