I have always wanted to pay a visit to a Thalassotherapy Spa. After all, Thalassotherapy seems to be a great remedy for any number of ailments from weight loss and cellulite reduction, to back problems, water retention, improved circulation and even joint pain…not to mention the relaxing and rejuvenating benefits it provides. I still have not had the pleasure of visiting a Thalasso Spa, but I have gotten to indulge in Thalassotherapy from the comfort of my own home, thanks to Repechage’s Thalasso Spa Bath.
The Thalasso Spa Bath is a seaweed bath that harvests seaweed from the clean sea-waters off the coast of France (which makes sense since Thalassotherapy is very popular in the Mediterranean.) The seaweed extract is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and trace elements that are intended to relieve stress, improve circulation, and revitalize the body while also providing the body with all of the nutritive benefits from the sea.
Now I have to tell you right off the bat that the soak definitely smells like the sea, there is no flowery or minty aroma– it actually smells like seaweed if not a bit fishy (proof that it is indeed from seawater.) If you can get over the smell (which once diluted with water is not as strong), then you are well on your way to revitalization and purification. I soaked in the tub for the recommended 15-20 minutes and emerged definitely more relaxed and revitalized, not sure if my circulation was improved or how I would go about finding that out, but I did appreciate the fact that I did not emerge smelling of the sea. I have done a bit of research on Thalassotherapy and it is definitely supposed to purify the skin, but again I am unsure as to how I can tell my skin has been purified by it’s physical appearance. I do know that I will continue to indulge in my weekly Thalassotherapy treatments at home because it does benefit the body in a number of ways and until I figure out how to tell whether my skin has been purified or has better circulation, I will continue to indulge because I can definitely tell that I am more relaxed and revitalized!
Have you tried Repechage Thalasso Spa Bath or Thalassotherapy?
