As a teen growing up in the Ocean State of Rhode Island, all that was required at the beach was 1. baby oil, 2. Coppertone SPF8, 3. lemon juice for your hair and 4. a boombox. All four of these things did not prevent sun damage.
Now, in my late 30’s (cringe), that sun damage rears its ugly head on my cheek bones below my eyes and on my forehead (mainly on my left side where my hair parts.) I know that they will never go away because it is years of damage. However, I can prevent further damage and I can work on fading the age spots I do have to at least be less dark than they are now.
Here are some of the best Vitamin C packed beauty must-haves that WORK.
All of the above products mentioned have been tested by the team at A Girl’s Gotta Spa! and have our seal of approval that they work. If you’ve tried any of them, please let us know in the comments!
Now, when I go to the beach, I’ve swapped the boombox for my iPod, ditched the baby oil, use at-home kits for my highlights and wear a stronger SPF (30) with broad spectrum protection. How about you?
