Once Fall decides to make her debut, I start to get very excited about fall makeup. I prefer a more polished, sophisticated makeup look for fall and winter. I love a bold, almost vampy lip, smoky eyes and more defined cheekbones. Even before summer came to what seemed like a too abrupt end, I was lusting after a matte, wine colored lip for fall. I pictured all of the outfit and hairstyle possibilities that my matte, wine colored lip would present. I just knew that once I found that perfect matte wine colored lipstick I would be officially ready for fall.
The process of experimenting with different shades of lipsticks was fun…and at times absolutely hilarious. I think I visited Sephora four times in one week, each time trying a few different shades of wine colored lipsticks, of course this process would have probably been much faster if there weren’t so many other fun distractions at Sephora, but when in Rome…
Most of the brands of lipstick I tried were brands that I currently use or have used at some point in my lipstick wearing life, but the marketing for Becca Cosmetics caught my eye and I decided to give their Ultimate Matte Lip Colours a try. I absolutely loved that Becca shows diversity in their advertising and I have been making it a point to buy from companies that show diversity in their marketing. The two Ultimate Matte Lip Colours I tried were Antoinette and Adele. I loved them both, but on my skin tone Antoinette was the wine colored lip color that I have been picturing on my head since August rolled around.
The Ultimate Matte Lip Colour in Antoinette is just absolutely stunning. The color is really rich and deep and provides full coverage that is absolutely flawless. The Lip Colour feels creamy and luxurious and it actually stays in place for a really long time. The first time I wore the Lip Colour, I went to dinner on the back of my boyfriend’s motorcycle, so I was wearing a helmet to and from the restaurant. After helmet wearing, eating and drinking, I got home and there was still a great amount of color on my lips.
I absolutely CANNOT believe I have not tried this brand before. I am actually looking forward to finishing the tube of red lipstick that I currently use just so I can go and buy the Ultimate Matte Lip Colour in Josephine (which I have also tried and LOVED). Actually if quite a few of my lipsticks were to just magically disappear, I wouldn’t mind one bit…it would give me a reason categorize a trip to buy the lip products from Becca as an absolute emergency!
