Bethenny Frankel has long been a household name since her Housewives days – but her legacy extends far beyond NYC luxury living. Her line of Skinnygirl beverages has become the drink of choice for many, and she’s recently launched a body care line in the same vein.
I was super excited to try Skinnygirl Body Products, mainly because of my pre-existing affinity for all that is Bethenny. She has a ton of different products – I decided to try out the Body Solutions Kit which included a Smoothing & Firming Body Wash, Smoothing & Firming Body Lotion, and Body Shimmer for a nice post-shower glow.
Of course, there is no such thing as a miracle product that will instantly smooth skin and permanently remove cellulite or skin dimples. That being said, certain ingredients in smoothing lotions can effectively stimulate and plump skin, giving a temporarily smoother appearance.
I found when I used both the body scrub and firming lotion, there was a definite (though temporary) difference in my skin’s elasticity. The body shimmer was a much-welcomed final touch – a little glitz never hurts! For ultimate slimming power, I used these products for a week straight, alternating between the smoothing lotion and an everyday self-tanning lotion – a little built bronze always helps for a toned appearance.
My only gripe was that the two bottles actually burst from the wrong end when I tried dispensing a bit of lotion. Thankfully, the packaging gaff didn’t mess with the actual product much – so no complaints on my end.
I totally recommend the Body Solutions kit for a quick pre-beach body prep. Again, take it with a grain of salt: this isn’t a miracle lotion, but it’s a fine quick fix. Skinnygirl collections are a great all-in-one gift, too, and I’m already considering stocking up during the holiday season a few for any last-minute grab bags that might pop up.
