The Sapphire Salon and Destination Spa in Pittston, PA is holding #SapphireGoesPink on Sunday, September 29th from 5-7pm. Sapphire is working with Look Good, Feel Better and The American Cancer Society to host this breast cancer awareness event.
It may surprise you to see a breast cancer awareness post here on A Girl’s Gotta Spa!, especially since we stopped promoting BCA products back in 2009. However, this local event is 100% charity based, so not only do I support it, I’ll be there as well! (And with Amanda, who is MC’ing it!)
Tickets must be purchased in advance at the salon and are $20 per person, all of which go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an American Cancer Society event. For this event Sapphire is looking for 15 women who are either currently battling breast cancer or who have won their battle against breast cancer, to take part in a pampering afternoon before the event, and then to model in their fashion show during the event. Currently they have 7 people, but are still looking for 8 more. If you are local here in Northeast PA or in the Pittston area that meets the description above, please leave a comment on this post so that I can get you in touch with the person coordinating the event.
During the event at the salon, there will be basket raffles with items from local businesses. All of these proceeds go to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, as well. An after party will be held at Cooper’s on the Waterfront in Pittston from 7:30-10pm, and they will be donating 20% of their proceeds to Making Strides, too.
The Sapphire Salon & Destination Spa is located at 247-249 South Main Street, Pittston, PA. I hope I’ll see you there!
