I absolutely love trying new sunscreens! My ongoing battle with Melanoma has forced me to love sunscreen and I can safely say I’ve tried mostly every sunscreen that’s out there. While I don’t have a problem with the way sunscreen usually smells, I was excited to learn that there’s a sunscreen that smells as good as my scented body lotions!
For those that don’t like the scent of your average sunscreen, with SolScents ($14.95) you don’t have any excuses not to protect your skin from the sun. This is probably the most exciting sunscreen I’ve tried because the scents are fun, girly, made really well … and don’t really FEEL like a traditional sunscreen. As SolScents says, it’s “brightly scented sun care.”
SolScents sunscreens smell like girly lotions, but have UVA & UVB protection. The formula is water resistant (for 80 minutes) and moisturize your skin while protecting it. I loved wearing it and still smelling feminine! That’s one thing most sunscreens don’t have … that girly scent that lingers! SolScents sunscreens are made in the USA and are animal and cruelty free. Also affordable! At $14.95 a pop on their website, these are fancy lotions that protect, without the fancy price! Can you tell I’m obsessed with Iggy Azaela’s song “Fancy” right now? I can’t stop with that word.
SolScents are available in seven fragrances that range in broad-spectrum levels 15, 30 and 50. Another bonus with this brand is that each scent has a designated charitable cause linked to it with a portion of each sale being donated to a different cause. I tried SolScents in Angelica and Flower Blast scents. Angelica is SPF 30 (the purple bottle) and a portion of the proceeds go to supporting No Animal Cruelty. Flower Blast (The pink bottle) is SPF 50 and a portion of the proceeds of its sale go toward supporting Breast Cancer Awareness. Flower Blast is floraly and is a stronger fragrance of jasmine and orchids with musky undertones. This is definitely the stronger fragrance of the two. Angelica is super girly, while being light and fresh scented with the aroma of passion fruit, lily, and wild rose.
One thing I absolutely loved about these sunscreens is how easily they rubbed in. Sometimes with lotion sunscreens I feel like I have to rub them in forever until the whiteness absorbs into my skin, but SolScents rubs in with ease and very little effort. For me, that’s a big deal. The amount of time sunscreen takes to rub in is usually a huge turn off for me and the main reason I typically use a spray on sunscreen.
SolScents sunscreens are 3 in 1 … sunscreen protection, moisturizer, and fragrance! I’m a fan. I want to try SolScents Pina Colada next because that just screams SUMMER fragrance! If you like to smell good and also realize how important it is to protect your skin, SolScents is definitely a sunscreen you’re going to want to try! Keep your skin safe this Summer! XO
