One of the most exciting shows I went backstage for was Behnaz Sarafpour. The best part of getting backstage early is avoiding the chaos and getting more one to one time with the talents involved in making the models look spectacular. Not only did I get to really talk with Charlotte Tilbury from MAC, and even chat up Behnaz Sarafpour herself (I know! I was excited too!), but I got to spend a good chunk of time watching Ashley Javier go to work doing what he does best–hair.
Ashley Javier is an amazing talent, but not only that, this guy has such a fantastic personality! He was fun and warm and best of all, he made me laugh. I loved watching him get so excited about the hair products and tools he used from Linea Pro, not to mention how much he adored the Swarovski Crystal flat iron from Linea Pro that he used on all of the models (it’ll be available in November!) We talked about the even heat that it gave, how it comes with converters for outlets should you travel to Europe and how it even has a remote control. We both loved the fact that it was ionic and had titanium plates, which really takes the frizz right out of your hair and adds incredible shine.
For Behnaz’s runway show, Ashley created a high ponytail and then used the flat iron to straighten it. He used the smaller flat iron to create small waves down the ponytail to project movement. The look overall was sweet and etherial.
