I, maybe like a lot of you, tend to think that uber affordable skin care products that actually work (not kind of work, but really work) are an urban myth. My rationalization for expensive skin care purchases is usually that I would have to spend the same amount of money getting more of the cheaper product just so it can work as well as the more expensive product. Sometimes this was true, at times it was utter nonsense. Yet somehow it made sense to me even though rationally I know that a product does not need to cost an arm and a leg for it to be effective. In an effort to embrace my more rational beauty connoisseur I decided to give a really affordable line of skin care that I had never heard of a try.
I tried four products from Ziaja, a European skin care line that is super affordable. The products I tried included the Natural Olive Micellar Water, the Marine Algae Smoothing Enzyme Peeling, the Coconut Body Butter and the Goat’s Milk Hand and Nail Cream. All four of the products had very fresh, natural scents which I immediately fell in love with. Both the Coconut Body Butter and the Goat’s Milk Hand and Nail Cream are intensely hydrating and absorb very quickly. They left my skin feeling soft, smooth and surprisingly refreshed. Sad to say though my best friend was around when I started trying the Ziaja products and she loved the Goat’s Milk Hand and Nail Cream so much that I had to hand it over to her.
I have to admit that I have never heard of Micellar Water before using the Ziaja Natural Olive Micellar Water. If like me you are not familiar with micellar water, a micelle is a tiny oil molecule that is suspended in soft water. The way it works is that instead of smearing your makeup around your face like most makeup removers do, the micelle molecules effectively eat up and absorb dirt and makeup. The solution feels just like water, and is kind to and soft on skin. I honestly wished I would have know about micellar water sooner because I love how soft and refreshed my skin feels after using it and it does a fantastic job of removing my makeup.
The Marine Algae Enzyme Smoothing Peeling is very gentle on my skin. Unlike a lot of enzymes I’ve tried, it does not irritate my skin at all. It actually feels moisturizing and my face definitely looked brighter after using it.
I was very pleasantly surprised with all of the Ziaja products that I tried. They smelled great, worked amazingly well and best of all they are very reasonably priced!
